So I am done with today

Every morning I wake up

And put a new mask on over the old

Layering

so my real skin never shows

On the days I feel brave enough

to stand in the mirror and peel back the layers

I don’t recognize what’s underneath

I bring my hand to my face to see if it’s real

it’s sore to the touch, but it’s not me

Just a lifeless vessel designed to mimic the

movements of those around

Volví a llorar, volví a desahogarme con las lágrimas que juré que jamás volvería a derramar por ti. Me has dicho lo mismo de tantas formas, no me quieres, ya lo sé. Entonces, ¿qué necesidad la tuya de seguir cerca de mi? ¿por qué sigues siendo egoísta? Sé que dices que no quieres serlo, que quieres lo mejor para mí pero ¡no es cierto! Debo de grabármelo en la cabeza, tú no me quieres, tú te quieres más a ti mismo y eso es algo que debo de empezar a hacer: AMARME A MÍ MISMA. Antes que a nadie, primero yo.
