A delayed reaction to the tragic loss of Whitney Houston
I will admit, that I have never been the biggest Whitney Houston fan. Not that I ever disliked her music, I just never listened to it often. But when that powerhouse of a woman died, I was really struck. It occurred to me how often Whitney had been woven into my life unassumingly and was never an imposition. Subtle references to her have always been used in Pop Culture, between drag queens in movies, or comedy sketches, in songs, and in fashion.
I was shown this song by one of my roommates shortly after Whitney passed, and ever since, I have been hooked. I feel that in it's energetic beats and well-known dubbed song (in both the cases of songs mixed), it is a perfect tribute to commemorate all that was good about Whitney Houston.
