Day 47 Immediately One Lives
Seneca has a quote that touches everything I’ve been embarking on lately, pointing directly to the truth that the “NOW” we experience is the only realm we can truly know and understand. He writes, “The whole world lives in uncertainty—live immediately,” and Alan Watts grounds this idea in a way that is both perplexing and simple: “From memories you infer that there have been past events. But you are not aware of any past events. You know the past only in the present and as part of the present.”
What future are you waiting for?
What past is holding you back?
These are questions worth sitting with. We only ever experience this immediate moment; there is no running from that. It is the mind and ego that steal the essence and quiet bliss of it, pulling us into stories of the past or fantasies and anxieties about the future. The past and the future feel different emotionally, but they arise from the same mechanism: both are thoughts happening now. You think of the “past,” you dream of the “future,” yet both unfold in the present moment. When you truly consider that, it’s chilling—it reveals how much our mental constructions take us away from direct experience. Yes, we are wired this way; evolution built us to remember and to predict. These capacities can elevate us into reasoned virtue, but they can also paralyze action and numb us to the simple fullness of being alive. I’ve even seen this in my own dreams, revisiting where I grew up, chased by a larger-than-life symbol of a liger as what I believed I was escaping, only to realize that the story I attach to the past brings anxiety into my present more than I notice, quietly shaping a future I haven’t even lived yet. It makes the present less present and breeds resentment toward a life I think I should be experiencing. Action becomes hindered by thought—an intangible stream with no weight or location, yet immense influence. If thoughts shape reality, then consider the internal reality you cultivate: if you are consumed by what was or what might be, how can you be free here? If your attention is trapped in projection or regret, how can you experience the quiet bliss of existing? It is far easier to write this than to embody it, which only shows how powerful the mind can be. Living immediately is the true currency of wealth in a world conditioned to obsess over history and anticipation. Live immediately—there is no certainty promised beyond this moment, only action within uncertainty. The past is not a rite of passage you must carry forward; it does not exist now except as a present thought. From this now, action becomes clear and intentional. Don’t let abstractions replace action. The only place resentment exists is as a thought now, the only place anxiety exists is as a thought now, and the only place action has ever existed is here. Live immediately.

My job requires that I have to go to work despite the quarantine. Even so, I decided to do something with my weight - LOSE IT!!! I’m not going to discuss here why with Herbalife. That’s my choice but I would like to share with you my journey. I hope that it will help me endure the whole weight loss journey and maybe have some support from you. I don’t want to throw myself in to it with vigor, so I chose my path - STEP BY STEP. This way I will start with Herbalife 3-Day Trial Pack to see if I’ll see immediately some progress. Wish me good luck 🍀
