Taiwan-America Student Conference 2014
Greetings from TASC!
Hello, my name is Shirley Cheng and I am a member of the American Executive Committee of the Taiwan-America Student Conference (TASC).
We would like to announce open recruitment for all university students from across Taiwan and the United States. We are currently looking for American delegates to represent the U.S. in this international student conference and would greatly appreciate it if you could share this rare and unique opportunity by forwarding this e-mail with its attachments to your students or any party that would be interested. Please also note that although this conference is taking place in Taiwan, we encourage students of any major to apply as long as they are interested in a life-changing, international experience.
TASC is a two and a half week long professional conference held in Taiwan and conducted formally in English. Throughout the conference, 15 top university students from America and 15 from Taiwan will participate in:
Roundtable Discussions designed to hone the delegates understanding of a single contemporary issue throughout the conference. (8 delegates total, 4 from each country)
Topic examples: Taiwan-China-U.S. Relations; Modern Issues in Education; Diversity, Identity, and Discrimination
Please note that students do not necessarily need to be versed in these topics, only open and eager to learn about and discuss them.
Academic Forums featuring international leaders such as Dr. Stanton, the former director of the American de-facto Embassy in Taiwan and Anting Liu, the founder of Teach for Taiwan.
Professional Networking Events that will allow students to gain real-world experience in building a community of strong connections and mentors to help them professionally in their future.
Cultural/Historical Excursions tailored to immerse students in Taiwanese culture and allow them to enjoy the conference as one that focuses on fun learning.
For more detailed information please visit our website at http://www.taiwan-america.org/. Financial Aid and scholarships are available for students that qualify.
We hope that students from your university will apply for the first ever TASC and join us for this life-changing summer!
As our final application deadline is March 16th, we urge this letter to be sent to students at your earliest convenience. Feel free to CC me at [email protected] in your email so that students can reach out to me if they have any questions!
