Why.... do i have feeling Shelly lore is.. Looking harmless but very deep like..

I think her lore about Always begin neglected and treated like extra... Or rather treated like annoying by her firends or anyone in the past cuz for matter of fact nort did get ask before someone wanting to know how teenage Shelly was like and nort was like oh you don't want to know... ALSO!

her badge is a participation award..So...IF you don't knowww.... WELL..

It's kinda becoming more obvious that she's person who masks her sadness and covers it up like it's okay I understand!

When she obviously has no one in gardenview to talk about fossils or her interests or anything no one has time for her and no one really seems to be in that interest she more like the yapper when it's her favorites! But no one seems want to listen cuz like I said they find it boring or useless or don't have time and she feels like she's burden and annoying cuz of it and tisha and Dandy don't really have time for her at alll

so she spends most of her time with pebble or alone

And from experience when you keep making up excuses! for someones actions and bottling up your feelings for them for not becoming a burden or to not worry them you wil realize at the end you have gained 2 things either a burnout or negative outcome

Cuz you never reallly expressed what you actually feel about it ( - _-')

Hi Charity, I have a question about the "stereotypical" INFP vs the reality of being an enneagram 9. In most MBTI descriptions, Fi is painted as a function that is fiercely protective of its values; someone who will stand their ground and fight whenever they disagree with the crowd. But as an INFP, I find that I rarely stand up for myself in real-time, and often stay silent to avoid conflict, even when I’m uncomfortable, especially with people I barely know. I tend to freeze in the moment. Am I mistyped or is this simply my 9w1 enneagram at work? I’d love to hear your thoughts on an INFP 9 having strong internal convictions and the struggle to actually voice them. Thanks for all your insights!

Fi users have a delayed emotional reaction and cannot process things in real time. Fi needs to go inside itself to do those things, but often, life is passing too fast to allow that and when they can't be alone, and people are staring at them or waiting for a reaction, their solution is to default into their Enneagram coping mechanisms to balance it out.

For you as a 9, that is “don’t react / don’t cause conflict, let it blow over,” followed up later with self-annoyance that you kept the peace instead of standing up for a belief. For a 6, it’s “let’s deflect from my discomfort or question this, because I disagree and want to keep my friends / say nothing controversial that could bite me later.”

Unlike a Fe, you can’t process your feelings on the spot and express them instantly. It’s easier to shut down, let the moment pass, and don’t fight about it. Low Te has a sense of “if I could not be argued out of my convictions, you can’t either” and high Fi has an inner conviction that “you and I should be allowed to think what we want, provided we don’t force that on one another,” that may counter arguing about it with “it’s futile / not going to work, anyway.”

It’s likely none of your True Deep Convictions have been triggered yet in a way that makes you unable to remain silent. That day WILL come, but 99% of what ‘bothers’ Fi is not a hill worth dying on for a 9 core. You will save that fight for when it is fully “worth it.”

No, it does not mean you are mistyped. It means you have a dominant introverted function that needs time to weigh the emotional consequences of standing up for yourself or something else against the physical, emotional, and social costs it will require (9).

Inferior Te also can't immediately articulate their convictions or come up with an argument on the spot that is more in-depth than “I hate that,” which can make an IFP feel self-conscious (low Te problems) and hesitant about getting into a fight.

So the reasons for you ‘not speaking up’ are many.

There are no good enneagram 9 characters in media as far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong please! I'm desperate for a well-written e9 character) (The only character that comes to mind is Denji from Chainsaw Man but that manga has dragged its feet way too long now)

Which is not surprising to me because as an e9, we tend to not know what we really mean to the world. Our "potential." (I despise that word.)

For example, I only JUST realized that the reason why I can't achieve things in life is because I can't show up for myself but for others. For someone else, people, or something else. I don't know if I am even capable of showing up for myself. I tend to fall asleep to my own needs and desires. I avoid them like the plague, everything I do in life is either because someone else told me to do it or I am expected to do it.

This might sound like I would want to become a psychologist or a teacher but no. I want to be useful in quieter ways. Like, ways that tend to go unnoticed but would become painfully obvious if it was gone. This, of course, is overlooked in this society. Especially with the rise of ai but that's another topic for another day. And if an e9 lacks the proper guide they need in life, then they'll inevitably fall behind and when they fall behind they'll be labeled as lazy and nothing more by others. (Hi I am that e9.)

I wish I wasn't e9. Because maybe then, I would feel like I have a place in this world. No shade to others who are also e9 though. I just don't like myself.
