He didn’t know why panic set in so quickly nowadays. Ever since he’d become the Flash, it was like a thousand things were constantly in his head. Fear, anger, people to save, people to lie to. It all built up. Caitlin and Cisco were the only ones right now who really knew that Barry had panic attacks, because usually he’d have them next to the treadmill, tucked away from view. And he usually calmed himself down too, it was just a tightness in his chest that he had to stop.
But that day it didn’t seem to be going away. He didn’t even remember what had set it off, something either Caitlin or Cisco had said about Thawne, and then Barry couldn’t breathe. He managed to excuse himself, pulling himself away to side room of STAR Labs, where no one would find him unless they were looking. It was like there was something constricting his chest, and his hands were shaking, he didn’t know what to do except hope it went away soon enough.
