Robron related question (yes i spent whole weekend rewatching some parts of their story 🙈): robert spoke about his history in ssw2016, but did he ever speak anything about it later in the show?
Hey Laura! ❤️
I’m possibly not the best person to ask because I’m not good on details or dates. But I think a general answer would be no, not really.
And y’know I love that? They are both self confessed emotional planks of wood, neither of them, in Aaron’s words are good at talking about stuff. They struggle to form the concepts and words to explain any feelings they have, and that’s why they’re so co-dependent because they just have this connection where they know how each other are feeling at any given time.
It’s only really the final year as husbands where they’re even able to openly say I love you to each other without it being a major declaration.
There are some later references to Robert’s history. One that springs to mind is during the first wedding when Diane mentions how proud Jack would have been to see Robert now, and when Robert’s face falls, Aaron notices and distracts Diane by getting her a drink. Another about Robert’s sexuality is during the break up when Robert talks to Lawrence at Home Farm and tells him he’s bisexual not gay and it took a bullet and years to work out himself before he was ready to come out.
Then there are times when Robert talks about how Aaron has changed him and helped him accept himself, like when they both propose in the layby and at the second wedding during Robert’s speech.
But not other than that I don’t think. Unless anyone else wants to add something I may have forgotton. It would be nice if he came back to explore it more. Ryan come back? 😂
