Subtle Conflict
A gurgle of gore bubbled up the bandit’s throat as hard silverite thwarted forcefully into it’s neck. Twisting his staff intricately within his palms, Ander’s gripped tightly against his weapon and hauled it towards to other side of the enemy. Whacking the brute forcefully in the flank, the body crumpled downward into a defeated heap. The sounds of clumsy footing appeared from behind the mage as two fresh men attempted to assault him from behind. Gritting down on his teeth and clutching tightly to his staff, clumps of frozen liquid emerged between his fingers as he lifted an arm and swiped it forcefully across the direction of the sprinting males. In a matter of seconds, the two were swallowed up into a circular envelope of ice and were rendered completely immobile. With a grunt of force, Anders’ pounded his weapon against the brittled and weakened enemy. Switching his placements swiftly by transferring his staff from one hand to another, his strikes worked deftly against the two frozen bandits. The ice crackled and gradually pried off piece by piece as he continued to break away at the block. As the spell wavered, icy shards sputtered outward from their forms and their deceased bodies fell over with a sickening crunch as the remainder of ice toppled upon them. Ander’s pushed his legs forth and sprinted off towards the side, holding his staff from behind as he progressed. Aiming towards the last clump of bandits in which Hawke was dealing with on her own, he flipped his staff intact. Twirling and moving in unison to his arms’ movements, the mage delicately summoned bright auras from the tip of his silverite staff in the direction of the lasting bandits from afar. As he continued, the bandits writhed and deteriorated in strength within every hit. The mage let out another yelp, grasping a firm clutch against his weapon and hauling it vehemently to the ground with a booming thud. As the last bandit collapsed with a finishing knick of Hawke’s blade and Anders’ spell together, the mage lightly slouched back with a mitigated sigh. “They just don’t give up, do they?” he joked mildly, wisping a few stray strands of hair from his face. His honey hues flicked over to Hawke, his face softening in concern. “Are you alright?” He was certain the woman was fine, seeing as she was a highly intelligent fighter… but his trepidation for her security was instinctual. The mage was always sure to check. It was the way he was with most of his companions; although there could be an exception for a few at times.
