"I cannot believe I'm stuck with you for the rest of our lives," Sam bemoans, casting a look that Bucky thinks is supposed to be something akin to "resigned acceptance to an awful fate."

"I'm the one who should be saying that!" Bucky fires back. "That scar on my hand from where you stabbed me with a fork because you thought I was saying 'I don't like Marvin Gaye' isn't going away for a long, long time."

"First, I was drunk; second, it was an accident."

Javier and Kieran, neighbors AU

KAVI NEIGHBORS AU YEAHHHH

This is the third time this week Javier has knocked on Kieran's door and asked for his neighborly help, aka borrowing something; today, he had simply answered the door to a friendly smile and question of, "Screwdriver?"

As he nervously nods and stutters out that he has to go dig it out from his toolbox—which has a layer of dust sitting on it as thick as his grandma's ashes—Javier chuckles and lightly places his hand on his shoulder.

"Sorry, compadre, I meant a drink at my place as thanks for all your help lately... if you want?"

“Not sure why I’ve been declared the field medic,” he complains.

“Would you rather be taking that on?” 

He looks to where Avon’s pointing in time to see Jeice crash feet first into Shiva’s chest, sending him flying through an academy window.

“Fair point,” Appule sighs.

Bruh I love this. Appule has the most medical training and is least qualified to deal with the Ginyu squad 😂😂

“Easy, partner,” the one in the brown coat says, holding his hands out and away from his guns. “Let her go, and we’ll let you go.”

There’s very little in this world that she hates more than being a damsel in distress and being used as a bargaining chip or hostage. If he lets her go before she frees herself, there’s no way in hell she’s not shooting the bastard right in the face.

She bares her teeth again and spares a glance at the other man. He’s already watching her like a hawk, and shakes his head subtly as if he knows what she’s about to do.

Sandy: Honestly I think she’d like pretty much any animal, but she’s probably more partial to dogs. She’s a workout-aholic, so she’d love going on daily runs with her dog(s) in the universes she’s not, y’know, a spy/vigilante.

Al: She’s not quite the horse girl Kieran is, but she definitely loves horses. And dogs. She had minimal experience with goats, but she likes them well enough. Most wildlife she likes, actually, being as outdoorsy as she is.

Gigi: A cat person, for sure lol. Another way her and Sandy are like almost polar opposites

Penny: Also a cat person! So she and Gigi have like 4 cats, which means Carson grows up a cat person, too. But like most kids, he loves pretty much all animals too.

Lita: Obviously she has AJ, but she’s not really like a specific animal person. Cats are a little easier when you’re off training or at work all the time or every few years when the world needs saving.

Akira: He’s actually a bird person! He keeps a bunch of finches at his house and the local bird population loves him. AJ cannot come with Lita when she visits because he’s a cat and he’s an asshole.

The rest of the McIntosh’s aren’t really into animals very much? Gigi and Sandy were always asking for pets, and they did have a dog and a cat growing up, but Adrian and Doris didn’t ever adopt any animals on their own accord.

But then a sharp voice cuts through the silence, and he doesn’t have to make a decision. “Sincerest apologies, Captain. We hate to ask you to behave yourself.”

As always, Jicama’s words command instant attention. All eyes turn to the spot where the crowd is already splitting apart. Jicama strides through the space, not acknowledging the wide-eyed wonder her presence has caused in some of the patrollers. Instead, she’s fixed her stare fully on Ginyu; a resentful stare that the captain returns.

Avon cocks her head to one side, intrigued by the silent part of their exchange.

Once he’s out of earshot, John turns to Karen and squares his shoulders a bit. “You reckon it’s Micah or somethin’?” They may not be on the best of terms, but he’ll defend her and any woman in camp from that creep.

“No, I don’t think so.” She drums her fingers against the table for a moment.

They’ve known each other long enough for John to catch that look in her eye. “Karen, what do you think?”

I actually really love writing this stuff between John and Karen??
