Team EnVyUs just lost one of its brightest StarCraft II stars.
Professional Terran player Choi “Polt” Seong Hun will be leaving the United States, where he has lived for the past three years, to fulfill a mandatory military service in Korea. In doing so, Polt will no longer be affiliated with the EnVyUs organization and will be forfeiting his spot at BlizzCon.
“I have been really happy for the past 6 years, “ said Polt in Team EnVyUs’ announcement. “Playing StarCraft II and meeting a lot of people in the world gave me plenty of unforgettable memories. I have been able to make a great achievement and I appreciate all of the support from Andrew and Team EnVyUs. Unfortunately, the time has come to say goodbye. However, remember that every ending is a new beginning. I am looking forward to seeing you again soon.”
Polt, who won the WCS Winter Circuit Championship back in March, would have appeared on the main stage at BlizzCon for the fourth year in a row.
Conscription is expected of all South Korean males between the ages of 18 to 35, with a minimum bid in the Navy, Air Force, or Army lasting two years.
