I completely agree that Hudson is so friendly and sweet and seems to make friends everywhere he goes but that his friendship with Connor is different. I really felt you could see it when he thanked him when he won the CSA award, he seemed so emotional during that part of his speech. And the Shut Up Evan podcast when Evan said hudcon reunion and later when Connor asked his question. And that picture at the Met Gala where someone is complimenting Connor’s Russian and Hudson is gazing at him so proudly. I believe he is a loving person who cares about his friends but I also believe that this friendship sticks closer to his ribs than most, because soulmatism or the crazy circumstance or any multitude of possible reasons.
mytruth is that hudson choking up during his csa award speech really genuinely solidified for me that he loves connor down. and if we’re being suuuper honest. i think it’s a mix of everything that makes their friendship so special. it is the proximity and the time they spent together, it is the fact that they have so many overlapping interests, it is the trust they had in each other from the jump, the shared knowledge that they were on the same page, that they wanted to make the same show. factor in the way the show blew up, and now they’re clinging to each other in the chaos. i think you could make the argument that they’re only close bc of circumstance and the roles they play, but i just don’t think that’s true. they’re so boyish together. i think it’s like……. they have the kind of friendship you’d have in elementary school, when there aren’t any real expectations, you kinda just have fun and you play pretend together and nothing is ever really that serious, except that some of the greatest and most intense relationships you have are from your childhood…. the child in me sees the child in you. yeah… something like that
