Two reflective/experimental beards.

‘Head of Red Headed Man with a Yellow Cap’ as painted in 1885 by Russian painter Vassily Polenov (1844-1927). His vision of life was summarized as “Art should promote happiness and joy”. As a painter and a humanist believed in the civilizing mission of Art, Culture and Education. I wonder what he would make of that mission in 2022/2023?

‘Portrait of a man with a red beard’ Tarumbana. I could find no information about the image, or the name of the painter. I would guess it is late 19th Century. But please accept here a link to an enquiry about why beard hair can grow different colours to head hair, particularly for men with ginger hair.
