{a-regrettable-job}: "W-WAIT WHAT-?!" {Hm, wonder how that would happen >:3}
The grin on Mike’s face is so unlike the man that one would say he was a different person altogether. The sound of a child’s laughter rings only in his and Dani’s ears.
‘Mike’ had lured Dani into the backstage room to tell her a ‘secret’, though clearly that was all a false lie. As ‘Mike’ stares into Dani’s eyes, knife lodged firmly in her shoulder (the least lethal spot the child could think of) his eyes turn a deep black, bright white pupils ringed in gold.
Faith had tried to fight the other spirit off, but the vengeful ghost was stronger, and quickly stole control of Mike’s body to torment him. That’s all these spirits liked to do-- torment him. And this was the ultimate form of torture; to make him injure someone he considered dear.
As the spirit giggled and attempted to exit, both his and Faith’s beings are revealed as she tackles him to the ground, and they begin to fight, their rage incapacitating their ability to remain hidden from Dani. Mike’s eyes return to their usual stormy blue, and tears immediately begin to spill down his pale cheeks.
He pulls away, unsure of what to do but choke out feeble apologies, the knife left in her shoulder. “O-oh, God, D-Dani! Jesus Christ, I-- I’m sorry, I-- how do I--” Mike’s hands tremble violently, darting between being held to his chest and aiming to remove the knife, or try to catch Dani should she fall. But his hands were now covered in her blood, and he felt them unworthy of gracing her.
Mike hums curiously, about to ask Dani what she was apologizing for before she promptly kisses him and runs off. Several questions ran through Mike’s head as he attempted to process this.
Why did Dani kiss him? What was with the weird collar? Why the hell did she smell like spoiled milk?
Mike was pretty sure he would get none of the answers he desired. He absently touches his lips, and finds it wasn’t half bad. Despite that, he hopes this isn’t found out by Scott. While the assistant manager wasn’t known to be jealous, he didn’t want to give him any anxiety that Mike would leave him.
All these questions and worries faded as the taste of spoiled milk invaded his mouth, and he gags, immediately going off in search of something to wash this taste out with.
((After the adorable picture @a-regrettable-job had drawn for me, I couldn’t help but feel indebted! So here’s Dani and Mike chilling out at Mel’s. Hope you enjoy it!))
{a-regrettable-job}: ⭐️ or 🌟?
Mike grumbles to himself quietly as he stands precariously on the step-stool, staring deeply into the wide open chest cavity of Freddy Fazbear. It was early, a few hours before opening time, but a few other employees had already started filing in to prepare for the large birthday party to be held today.
And, of course, Freddy Fazbear and his gang had to be in tip-top shape for the birthday kid. And, of course, as a mechanic for a hobby, Mike’s boss put him in charge of fixing them up, as the usual mechanic was out sick. Considering that just the night before these robots were trying to kill him, Mike wasn’t exactly thrilled at being practically inside of them. He fully expected Freddy to grab him and shove him head-first into his stomach.
He calls a “Hey!” as he hears the familiar “Hello, hello!” of his roommate and boss, Scott. The assistant manager object head chats with Mike for a minute or two before heading into the office to prepare some paperwork. Mike returns to the tedious work of making sure the animatronics were up to snuff.
Thankfully Freddy was the last robot to be fixed up. Mike sighs in relief as he stands fully on the stepping stool, admiring his work. He didn’t seem to notice that Freddy was standing farther forward than usual, causing Mike’s stool to be placed dangerously close to the edge.
As Mike closes the panel into Freddy’s chest, the animatronic begins to laugh softly, staring directly at Mike.
“Yeah, yeah, we get it. You’re creepy and you like to laugh. What’s the big… deal…?” Mike feels a little weirded out as Bonnie and Chica’s eyes were trained on him, though they kept their heads facing forwards to seem discreet.
And then Freddy gently kicks the stool over the edge of the stage, sending Mike falling over the edge of the tall stage. His head slams directly into a table, knocking him out immediately.
He’s flung violently between consciousness and unconsciousness, and his conscious moments are plagued with the laughter of the spirits inhabiting the animatronics– though the spirits are careful to remain visible and audible only to Mike. Mike supposes this was how children kept entertained– especially dead ones.
The next thing Mike knows, he floats into consciousness to feel his body being lifted from the floor. Red fills his vision, though he knows it isn’t blood, and he squints weakly as he slowly makes out the features of Dani’s face. She was strong enough to lift him? That was curious. And, maybe, a little attractive.
“J-Jesus,” Mike splutters, and blood dribbles from his mouth. “What’s up with-… tragic incidents and bringing m-me closer to people…?” He lets out a weak laugh. Of course his head was hit. Of course it was.
[a-regrettable-job]: “Don’t be ridiculous, that kind of stuff only exists in bad horror movies.”
“Ha! You think that, ‘till their jaws are chomping in your face!” Mike puts his hands together, palms touching and fingers interlaced, and makes a chomping motion with them in Dani’s face.
“I tell you! I’ve seen ‘em. Big nasty lizard people in the woods. Warn your kids.” Mike leans back, sipping from his beer.
Inviting Dani to Mel’s was the best idea Mike had ever come up with.
