A Rush
If you blink
the moment will be gone.
You could be skating,
holding hands in the park-
or humming a song.
It will take seconds,
it won't be long.
No longer on the play ground.
Your reflection is older.
I hope as you grow,
you stay warm.
Become kinder and bolder.
Try not to rush.
Stay in the here and now.
Enjoy it; soak it up.
Do things that make you happy.
Do the best you can.
Blink, and you may miss it.
The next chapter
isn't too far off.
Our world is fast paced,
try not to let it hold you back.
