I wont lie i have to restrain myself from writting a 100,000 word document on everything i love about your work, every single time i read a cyanide narwhal update or reread ITYSG(AINLY) for the hundreth time. I am not joking. It is probably the zhongchi au fic i read the most soley because your world building and character moments are so just- i cannot put into words. It is the written version of one of my comfort foods. Seriously you are a huge inspiration for my own fics that i hope to post one day once i manage to actually write down what im visualizing lol.

I love your au! Stanford perpetuating the abuse Bill does to him by kind of reenacting it on Stanley. Using Stan as his safe place to make himself feel better but doing the same type of thing Bill does to him. Kind of like “coping” (but not really) with his own trauma by playing it out on Stanley but with himself in the position of control. Maybe makes him feel like he has some control over what happens to him by having Stan under his control?

Either way poor Stan is at the bottom of the food chain but Ford also suffers. I love how even the more lighthearted pieces you draw (or what counts as lighthearted for this kind of au) still have this aura of darkness that seeps through the art style. It’s really good!

(Also don’t feel obligated to respond to this ask with any doodles. I eat up each drawing you create but don’t feel like you have to draw something for every ask! 💜)

Hi, first of all, thank you so much for such kind words. I love that you point out that the feeling I'm trying to convey is captured in my drawings. I'm a fan of that "something is wrong" vibe. sjhjhdj giggling, kicking my feet, cheering this forever.

And thank you for your concern with the drawings! I'm trying to keep the blog active because I really like drawing the Sillies without falling into the habit of killing my wrist haha

Now, about Ford-

yes! Stan really is Ford's safe place, and Ford is doing the same thing as Bill, but with less awareness of it. Here, Bill initiated the abuse on karaoke night, and Ford convinced himself he had a good time so what he wrote in his diary is almost the same—then if Bill sexually humiliates him, Ford accepts it because he deserves it (punishment) /Bill knows best (Bill is just horny). Bill does whatever he wants with Ford, and Ford will justify it because he's devoted to him. Ford is delusional and believes Stan owes him a similar devotion.

It's quite painful that among so many internal problems he has, is the fact that Ford doesn't recognize that he's being abused. So he repeats that "take what you want, whenever you want," from Bill because in love there are no limits, and that's why he can simply kiss Stanley if he wants, force him to stay with him, wathever, because he loves stanley and he knows best. Hes pretty good at rationalizing it even even! Stan life was worse when he hadnt Ford taking care of him. Besides, subconsciously Ford "needs it to happen again" (the SA). He agrees with Bill to be hypnotized, losing control over himself, but this time he knows in advance that this is what is going to happen, he gets turned on thinking about Bill taking advantage of him again, he takes Stanley but does it gently, although he can't help but feel satisfied when sometimes hes more rough (usually is when is a punishment), to demonstrate the control he has over Stan. In all this scenarios, he has the control over it, and is...better.

If this was a different story he and Stanley could practice CNC as a coping mechanism for Ford. Unfortunately atm Stanley has to deal with Ford "coping" without the first C, or-as i said in a comment Stan has to be Ford emotional support animal without wanting to
