Obesity in America
Obesity in America
Weight has been a problem for all countries in the world, whether it’s weighing too much or not weighing enough. In the United States, the problem is weighing too much. According to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) between 16 and 33 percent of children in the United States are obese which is triple the previous generation. The AACAP claims that the main contributors to obesity are: poor eating habits, lack of exercising and family history of obesity. The next question is how can we stop or diminish the amount of obese children? The answer to that question is very hard to answer, however organizations like the NFL’s Play60 and Michelle Obama’s “let’s move” campaign attempt to promote activity and healthy eating to the public. The promotions hope that we can fight obesity by slimming down America.
