How "poor" are these so-called poor residents of a luxury tower like this going to be? Like, just poorer than the Saudi prince who owns the top three floors (let's call it "Corporate Lawyer Poor")? Or the really lucky Parks Dept. manager who won some sort of housing lottery poor? I suspect if it's the first answer this "poor door" is going to be the least of their PR problems.
Yeah, it looks like this kind of affordable housing happens via lottery. Not a lot of housing developments in the pipeline for the lottery, and the “low income” level can be quite high - for example, this development includes dozens of units for single people with incomes up to the low six figures (!!!) but only one unit that would be feasible for a low-income single-parent with two children. So, yeah, you’re totally right that the “poor people” are not exactly the hoi polloi here.
