Tell me more about ferobas please
Okayy!!!
Ferobas are carnivorous creatures evolved from basic moths, with adaptations fit to survive in the cold, damp environment of the isles. They live in colonies, though a feroba can function completely fine in isolation.
All important organ stuff is labeled in coloihr
RED-heart
Located in the center of the Feroba’s body, the heart supplies blood to the rest of the body. Both the heart and the lungs are protected from the cold by a thick layer of fluff on the Feroba’s chest.
YELLOW-lungs
Taking up most of the space in the feroba’s chest that isn’t taken by the heart, the lungs allow the feroba to breathe. Any moisture in the air is absorbed, allowing the feroba to go long periods of time without directly consuming liquid.
PINK-brain
in the top of the feroba’s head, the brain lets it think and stuff.
GREEN-flapping muscles
connected directly to the feroba’s core and spanning from its center to its hands, the flapping muscles are the strongest muscles in the feroba’s body. They allow the feroba to push against the air with incredible force in a short amount of time. The top wings are mainly used for flying, while the lower wings act as arms to latch onto things.
BLUE-digestive system
spanning most of the feroba’s body, most of the digestive system hangs below its core. This takes up all of the feroba’s lower insides, along with giving some balance while flying.
a feroba’s antennae maintain balance while flying, while also being used to attract mates. Basically the fluffier the antennae, the more desirable a feroba is.
NOW ONTO BEHAVIOR!!
Ferobas hunt in packs, allowing them to find prey much, much bigger than them. Or smaller prey that have defenses against them! They perch in high places to gain sight over most of the surrounding area, and then fly up above the prey in order to swoop down and latch onto it.
for example, more ferobas are needed to catch and kill a spinemite, because spinemites developed hard shells and spikes on their skeletal structures in order to fend off ferobas+other predators.
(Poor little thing. Never stood a chance)
because of their more social nature, ferobas are also extremely expressive! While they lack proper vocal cords, they are able to do a mix of moving their antennae and clicking their tongues to create sounds. Believe it or not, I actually have a sample of their sounds!!!
the antennae wiggling produce the pitches, and the tongue clicking makes the main chirping sound.
so yeah that’s pretty much everything about ferobas!!! Let me know if you have any more questions :3
I’m not superstitious, but i do think it’s strange that the moment i think about working on the BLOOM project 50% of the time my internet goes out…
that route was weird
