the pitt social media au — update: kingdon (langdonmel) pt. 1
I love these 2 so much, and here it is! I took too long doing this, and I love this little family (they will be canon, trust!), but yeah, enjoy it!

Remember when Dana told Langdon that Abby didn’t need a new dog, she needed a vacation.
And then Langdon volunteered to work a 12 hour shift on the Fourth of July, leaving Abby to take care of their two young kids during a holiday that is notorious for overstimulating children.
And while he is at work, Frank goes out of his way to prove to Mel that he remembers everything about the first and only time that they worked together 10 months ago by being extra attentive to her needs when she is stressed out.
While at the same time, the show makes absolutely no attempt to even suggest that Frank has contacted Abby to let her know that he will be home 3+ hours late from a shift that he wasn’t even required to work.

Santos calling Langdon Jeff is a slight callback to my Langdon centric fanfic and it'll be explained in this AU later, but there is a purpose for it I swear!
Anyway, Dennis is getting out of places to run!!!!!!! And I love Abby Langdon sm. You can bet that Frank mentioned his Whitaker hypothesis to her and she suggested that they invite him over for dinner bc she's great
Give it time. THE PITT • 2x06, "12:00 P.M."
never getting over this shot
he just thinks his life is so fucking over and his family is taking up the whole screen
inside frank and mel's phones! 🩵💜

Kingdon Week 2026 Day 6: Fame/Glory
this one may be my fave of @langdnmel 's fics for the week which is hard to say cuz i luv them alllll but read GOLD MEDAL on ao3 for a real treat with ABBY!!! @kingdonweek
this fanon image of abby langdon as a vaguely spoiled and entitled rich woman fascinates me, because while it correlates to what we see on the show, it's a pretty loose correlation. Everything we learn about Abby Langdon is through the medium of other people, specifically Langdon himself. To believe that the image he presents of Abby is accurate - someone who wants a Birkin, for example - you'd have to trust that he (1) understands his wife and (2) is a reliable narrator. Langdon is neither of these things.
Langdon's conversations with Dana imply that he does not have a very good sense of what Abby actually cares about. We know that Langdon believes Abby would want a Birkin, but Langdon also believed that she would be fine with a puppy and that his four year old son would take care of it. Every time Langdon comments on his wife, Dana corrects him. Dana isn't necessarily a reliable narrator either, but that's where I point to the context clues. Is the show affirming Langdon or Dana in the goldendoodle and vacation scenarios? What does this say about the accuracy of their respective views of Abby? How does this relate to Langdon's larger character arc in season 1?
Another way of asking this question: are these Abby's flaws, or Langdon's? The answer could easily be both. Season 2 pretty heavily implied that Langdon's marriage is less than great. We know very little about Abby, and many options are possible. But what we do know is:
she reasonably doesn't want a goldendoodle
Langdon believes she would want a Birkin, but Dana calls this into question
She stays with Langdon after the events of season 1
These offer many possible readings: a woman grudgingly doing "the right thing," a stressed mom who is desperately wondering why her husband has changed so much ever since they moved, and, admittedly, someone vaguely rich and spoiled. the show leaves it wide open for interpretation, but regardless imo any finger pointed at Abby really also points at Langdon in the end
