My favorite part about Alice in The Final Chapter is how she either looks ready to strangle Umbrella personnel with her grimy, fingerless glove-clad hands, or curl up in her ratty military coat and cry while Claire holds her.
Of course, she has some variation of this going on in every film, but it's not like Apocalypse or Extinction where she has her walls up and secured, but still breaks down toward the end.
It's not like the first flick where she's trying to stay strong, but she can't remember shit and she's been thrust into literal hell for the first time.
It's not like Afterlife where she's worn down at the beginning and finds her strength when she's with Claire and the others.
It's not like Retribution where she's being faced with ghost after ghost that she has to watch die all over. She knows it's coming and manages to repress her any strong reactions after her shitty reunion with Jill.
TFC Alice just fluctuates between being the most pissed off she's felt since she woke up in Apocalypse, and the most bone tired she's been since she was struggling to find a reason to carry on in Afterlife.
Also she's been rolling around in dirt.

am I, as a resident evil gameverse fan, supposed to be preprogrammed into hating the w.s. anderson films? yeah, with all the discourse and (frankly excessive) trashing of the series this side of the fandom you’d think so.
does that stop me from enjoying them in a “guilty pleasure” sort of way? absolutely fucking not. have you seen the clairice aberfield ship?!?

The scent of the ocean is overwhelmingly salty. The first time Alice's been able to stop and smell it since waking up in the mansion, she has to pause and tip her head back, her slowly normalizing T-Virus-less senses taking over.
So...
This is the ocean.
Only turning as Claire approaches, Alice offers her a tired smile. "Everyone out now?"
Claire smiles back at her before momentarily looking towards the people milling around on deck. "Yes. Though, I've left Chris and K-Mart in charge for now."
Alice nods. Moves to press her head against Claire's, relaxing for a moment, "Nice."
