Could you do oneshots based on songs please

i do! most of my fics are based on/inspired by/have references to songs.

here are a few of my faves

'thread of gold' inspired by 'invisible string' by taylor swift.

'sparkling' inspired by 'enchanted' by taylor swift.

'sentimental' inspired by 'billie bossa nova' by billie eilish.

'fairytale' inspired by 'today was a fairytale' by taylor swift.

'lover' inspired by 'lover' by taylor swift.

'see you later' inspired by this playlist that i created whilst writing it.

and there's many many more! many hidden songs references in other fics as well!

do u have any tips for writing fics when english isn’t your first language? I get so insecure about making grammar mistakes or writing things that don’t make sense or even having a limited vocabulary

what do you think about it?? pls be honest! would you read something like that?

oh i've been there!

first of all, apps. i use grammarly and pro writing aid as chrome extensions and they're so helpful! they even give suggestions as to how to type a sentence differently so it makes more sense.

english is not my first language either! and i'm sure you can notice it. i tend to repeat phrases and sometimes use a lot more words than necessary to describe something, but you get better over time.

but sometimes the apps will suggest sentences to make your writing sound more formal, that's also why beta readers are so so helpful as well!

something that i used to do at first (lolol) is make a list of phrases to make my writing sound more natural - things i heard on movies/shows, or read in books. phrases to describe things, so when i couldn't figure out what i wanted to say, i could use that one phrase as a 'template' and change what i needed at that moment lmao. but it honestly helped me so much!

and yup! online friends that also write are my betas<3

you can also just make a post tagging the fandom/s that you write for and ask for betas, or in your fics, you can add it to your author's note (if you write them) and i'm sure you'll get at least one reply🤗🤗
