1. Which bands/artist do you own the most albums by? Physical copies - Muse. Digitally - Coldplay.
2. What was the last song you listened to? MØ - Lost (Frank Ocean Cover)
I’ve only just discovered MØ and I love her. She also does a great cover of Spice Girls’ Say You’ll Be There
3. What’s in your CD/Record player right now? Mark Ronson - Uptown Special
4. What was the last show you attended? Chance The Rapper - Magnificent Coloring Book Tour at Festival Hall in Melbourne
5. What was the greatest show you’ve been to? Arctic Monkeys Melbourne 2013, Coldplay Melbourne #1 2016, Mark Ronson Melbourne 2015, Muse #2 Melbourne 2010, and Jay Z Melbourne 2006 mostly because it was my first concert, but also I’ve grown into really loving Jay and I appreciate that I got to see him early on.
6. What was the worst show you’ve ever been to? Britney Spears in ... 2010? I can’t remember the year actually. 2009 maybe? Just was kind of lacklustre.
7. What is the most musically involved you have ever been? I used to play the piano? I swear I had a knack for repeating things by ear but as with everything else I just let laziness kick in.
8. What show are you looking forward to? Seeing The Killers for the first time in Hyde Park London in July, and Coldplay in Paris, also in July... also really thrilled that Tove Lo is supporting Coldplay in Paris so I get to see her too.
9. What is your favorite band shirt? I got a Parachutes shirt at Coldplay last year and it’s honestly the softest band shirt I’ve ever owned, so there’s that. Otherwise I do tend to buy them out of excitement and then just wear them as pyjamas so they don’t get much use.
10. What musician would you like to hang out with for a day? Janelle Monae because she’s just the coolest. And maybe her effortless cool would rub off on me.
11. Who is one musician or group you wish would make a comeback? Westlife so I can live out my young dream of seeing the Irish non-dancing bastards live.
12. Who is one band/artist you’ve never seen live but always wanted to? The Killers (used to be on this list but the trip to London seems to be on the right track so I guess they’ll soon be crossed off the list), Beastie Boys, The Darkness (had my chance very recently and my frugality got the better of me), Bruce Springsteen (same bracketed reasoning as The Darkness), Kacey Musgraves, Westlife, The Lonely Island (do they even do live shows?), and Beyonce (how I haven’t seen her live yet is beyond me).
13. Flawless albums? Abbey Road - The Beatles Parachutes & Viva & Ghost Stories - Coldplay Whatever You Say I Am... & Favourite Worst Nightmare - Arctic Monkeys The Black Album - Jay Z Alright Still - Lily Allen Coloring Book - Chance The Rapper Is Your Love Big Enough - Lianne La Havas Camp - Childish Gambino Pageant Material - Kacey Musgraves Black Holes and Revelations - Muse (really close to being flawless) College Dropout - Kanye West Hot Fuss and Sam’s Town - The Killers (If I could merge these two into one album and pick out a couple this could be up there with my top 3)
14. How many concerts have you been to, total? 28... Give or take, I’m sure I’m forgetting a few.
15. Who have you seen the most live? Muse x5, Coldplay x3 (soon to be 5, Arctic Monkeys/Childish Gambino/Lady Gaga/fun./Maroon 5 x2.
16. What is your favorite movie soundtrack? Back To The Future, Reservoir Dogs, Submarine, The Royal Tenenbaums, Seeking A Friend for the End of the World, and Darjeeling Limited.
17. What was your last musical ‘phase’ before you wisened up? I’ll never wisen up. If I loved something at one point I can always go back to it with very little shame.
18. What is your ‘guilty pleasure’ that you hate to admit liking? Everyone needs to just calm down and stop scolding people for liking pop music. Or if not even pop music, just music that they themselves might hate. Just shut the fuck up and like what you like.
