Would love to read more about Eric. Care to describe him in a few sentences!
Hi hi, omg hi...tysm for reaching out and asking about him, that's so sweet!! I will always take a moment to talk about any and all of my clowns. :) In a few sentences, let's see....
Eric is, at his core, a sensitive soul. Before his life blew up, he was the sweet next door neighbor. The golden child. He was the student in school that knew everyone and would talk to anyone unprompted. Eric could find no flaw in his life. His parents were present, cheered at all his games, and would still do the cheesy family outings on the weekend. His friends were loyal and supportive. Overall, good prospects for his future. When he discovered the truth about his family's life and occupation, he struggled with the future. Staying or leaving. Is it right to stay with his family, and accept what they do? Is leaving everything you've ever known truly the better option? Truthfully, Eric was tempted to stay; to turn a blind eye to what he learned, and keep his life as it was. But, sleepless nights helped him realize that no matter how much he tried, he couldn't see past the disgust and newly found fear he felt towards his family. So, he ran. Eric hopped around different cities and towns, taking on odd jobs. Dishwasher, painter, custodial work - you name it, he's done it. There are moments that he struggles with his decision to leave his life and comfort, to willingly give up on his parents, but the illusion of forging a better, guilt-free life motivates him.
haha not super relevant, but there's a song in Spanish called 'el muchacho de los ojos tristes' and it popped up on my spotify today. It reminded me so much of Eric, he has those sad eyes. And though, he's often found smiling and laughing, that happiness doesn't quite reach his eyes. He tries to find the 'small things' in life to keep him going and keep him in good spirits, some days are easier than others.
I realize we said a few sentences and I ran with it...but to summarize, he's sweet, chill, struggling, and a little broken. Perhaps, kind of paranoid and nervous. He loves watching sunsets, skating, and movie theater popcorn. On the flipside, Eric dislikes broccoli, mushrooms, and heights.
