LIFE wrote me a T R A G E D Y
so I gave it a H E R O
I went from
an Unwanted Stray,
to a Caged Dog,
to a Grey She-wolf.
And I’m not going back.
She brushes gentle fingertips against their arm.
They linger lightly, barely touching, barely there.
It is the best she can do, the best she can give them.
Fear stops her from anything else, but not fear of them, never them.
It is a fear from the past, an old ghost refusing to leave her.
She is fighting it though, slowly loosening its hold,.
Brick by brick the wall is crumbling under the her of the present.
But will it fall in time? Will they still be there when her inner dust settles?
