Green Lanterns: What would it take to make your muse give up?
{ Huh. That’s a toughie!
In general: Literally nothing will make him give-up where his friends are concerned. He’ll fight tooth and nail to the bitter end to help them, to keep them safe, to make them happy--you name it! If a friend is in danger, or needs help, nothing in the world will ever convince him to give up trying to help them...or to give up on them. That’s why he defends Toto to Cain: As far as he’s concerned, Toto’s a friend, and that makes him a good person.
But Ren!, you cry. What about Azkadelia? Glitch was her friend before, too! And he clearly gave up on her!
My friend--that was not Glitch. That was Ambrose. He saw evil in a child he loved and horrified, he acted as was necessary to save more of the people he loved. He literally sacrificed himself to save them in the end. He was destroyed.And I’m still not convinced he ever gave-up on Azkadelia as Ambrose. I think Ambrose held onto the hope that she would recover and stop what she was doing. I think Glitch was born into the “reality” that Azkadelia was an awful person, a Witch and a brain-thief, and I think that’s why he shunned her.
However, it is conceivable--for the sake of threads--that he might be brought to knees by a friend in danger. He might surrender himself and his fight to save someone he loves from greater peril. So there’s that. }
