Julia’s parents are a history professor and a dental hygienist respectively. She has an older sister (Claire) who is 29 and a younger brother (Wesley) who is 20.

She has a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and did a minor in Performing Arts. She originally planned to become a professor like her father but fell in love with acting after performing in a middle school production of The Secret Garden.
