About Alba
Alba Meira [the devil of daybreak]
age: 25 height: 5'8" weight: 145lbs fighting style: chinese boxing alias(es): The Devil of Daybreak, Son of Fate, Don, Judeim the Dark Fang Personality: Alba is a soft-spoken young man with a peculiar rasp to his quiet voice that’s off-putting at first, though he’s not what one would call unfriendly. The thinker of the pair of twins, he comes across aloof and somewhat standoffish, but that’s mostly due to his mind being perpetually turned inward, reviewing, analyzing, always taking in more data, reviewing it and filing it away for later use. Alba is very intelligent, clearly, but passionate, like his brother, though his level head makes him more suited to the role of Don. Everything he has ever learned, he puts to use on a daily basis to keep his iron grip on Southtown–and to keep her residents safe. Build: Stockier than his brother, Alba relies on his fists more than his feet to do the talking in combat. Though he possesses several effective kick combos, they are nothing to the power of his electrically-charged punches, an ability he’s possessed since childhood. He is relatively short, compared to Soiree, as well, but quick enough on his feet to pose a serious threat, even to taller combatants. Bio: Born in Germany, orphaned at 3 due to a cruel accident, Alba is the soft-spoken twin to the formidable Soiree Meira. They grow up knowing how to keep themselves safe, though not necessarily out of trouble. At age 14, the boys depart, journeying far across the ocean, to Southtown. There, they are picked up by a man named Fate, the boss of the most influential syndicate in the city, Addes. When he turns 18, Alba strikes out on his own, determined to make a name for himself, without relying on his foster father, Fate. During the time of his separation from Fate and his brother, Fate is killed in a turf skirmish with their most influential rival gang, Mephistopheles. The Meira twins begin to establish themselves in the underworld as powerful warriors, unafraid and uncompromising. It is only through these means that they will be able to continue on with Fate’s legacy and exact vengeance upon the head of Mephistopheles, a man named Duke. Alba and Soiree form the Sons of Fate, a bold departure from their mentor’s gang. The gang members are more than happy to create a new legacy under the leadership of the twins–though Soiree insists that Alba, his older twin brother, is in charge. He’s perfectly happy pushing his brother to the top. To that end, they sign up for the lauded King of Fighters tournament, in order to boost their notoriety in the underworld. Alba knows that if he or his brother manages to win this tournament, they will be just that much closer to honoring Fate’s memory and finding the man who arranged his death. And that man is hosting this tournament (under the public, false name Metatron), the King of Fighters, right here, in Southtown. The brothers fight fiercely, cutting their way through the ranks of incredibly famous and skilled combatants, all the way to the end, to a dark arena, wherein an assassin and Duke himself await them. Alba defeats Duke in a battle royale to shake the very foundations of the King of Fighters tournament and, though Duke is revealed to be a mere pawn in a greater scheme–one neither brother could possibly have predicted–Alba’s reputation soars within the underworld of the city and he is crowned King. Together, he and his brother keep the peace within the borders of Southtown, along with other members of their gang. Time passes and yet another tournament is held. Forever desiring his brother to maintain the power for which they’d both fought so hard, Soiree insists Alba accept his invitation to once more participate in that age-old tournament of strength. They battle their way through assassins, karate masters, legends like Terry Bogard and Kyo Kusanagi, all the way to a grand mosque. A storm rages overhead as a woman surrounded by blue butterflies, insists they stop here, turn back, give up. Luise Meyrink–daughter of a German scientist–informs the brothers that only one may enter the final stage of the tournament and so the twins find themselves at odds. Both promise to give it their all; to do anything less would be disgraceful. In the end, Alba prevails, his patience winning out over Soiree’s aggressive strategy. As the silver-haired twin settles himself on the pavement to await his brother’s return, he offers good wishes and a gentle, easy smile. This is the last time Alba will see his brother. He enters the darkened mosque, coming face to face with Luise, who insists Alba fight her before he meets the mysterious host and final opponent in this year’s tournament. Reluctant to do battle with her, Alba grudgingly accepts and finds himself once more in the heat of combat. She is a fierce opponent, her unique Schmetterling style proving to be a handful for the young man. Her movements are so smooth, she fairly dances about him, but his fists, charged with electricity and the drive to achieve victory, finally bring her low and she submits. He has won and now, his final opponent awaits. Jivatma is a terribly tall man, hardly human in his stature and complexion. The man reveals his identity as leader of Kushiel, the much larger syndicate owner of Addes AND Mephistopheles. This must be the man who murdered Fate… who else, but such a terrible being? And Jivatma is not finished, not by a long shot. Kushiel is the name of his syndicate, but he is no mere crime boss. That much is clear by his odd appearance and horribly long limbs. He and Luise (to whom he refers as Lakia) are creatures from another world–aliens, if you will–beings of a higher existence. Furthermore, Alba and Soiree are evidently members of this supernatural/extraterrestrial race–or rather, they are a member, a being named Judeim. With this sudden revelation burned into his mind, Alba, exhausted and battered, enters combat with Jivatma, the man who undoubtedly murdered Fate. His hands might not have been the ones that performed the abhorrent act, but he is the leader of the gang that had seen to it, therefore he will be punished. Alba fights with all the fury of a son scorned, his father ripped away from him too soon, leaving behind torn, grieving boy. Jivatma's limbs seem to stretch and snap back as though they’re not even made of flesh, tearing into Alba. The young man takes a severe beating before finally, FINALLY emerging victorious. He stumbles a few feet, heading for the exit of the mosque, before visions of a silhouette overcome his addled brain and he collapses, the name “Judeim” ringing inside him, curling through his veins, gripping his heart, seeding his bones. Only the depths of unconsciousness free him from this cruelty, though even that does not last long. Alba awakens on a rooftop downtown, with Luise/Lakia standing over him, her softly rounded face pale in the moonlight and the bright glow of neon illuminating her silvery hair, so much like Soiree’s… “Soiree?” He asks, terrified of what the answer might be. “I am so sorry,” she responds. “I could not reach him. Addes has your brother.” Which means Mephistopheles (as the two are truly branches of the same tree) has Soiree in its clutches–and therefore Kushiel, leaderless though it may be, now holds half of the creature known as Judeim. At a mere 25 years of age Alba now rules Southtown, under constant guard and surrounded by some of the most powerful fighters in the world. His time is divided between keeping the peace and searching for his brother, but he must be wary. As long as Kushiel has only Soiree, his brother is safe, but they are, without a doubt, waiting for Alba to lower his guard so that they may obtain the other half of whatever Judeim may be.
