The Above & Beyond and Seven Lions story has now come full circle.
A humble remix competition in 2011 launched the juggernaut we all know as Seven Lions. A surprising and distinctive rework of ‘You Got To Go’ (feat. Zoë Johnston) caught the ear of Jono, Tony, and Paavo - a.k.a. Above & Beyond - beginning a meteoric rise from bedroom dreamer to a mainstage headliner.
A vocal fan of Above & Beyond’s early works, Jeff’s (Seven Lions) own inimitable brand of high-octane, bass-saturated dance has always kept songwriting at its core: “I've been a fan of Above & Beyond for such a long time, and I'm so stoked to finally unveil our collaboration - See The End feat. Opposite The Other. My journey began with a remix way back in 2011, and to finally see this collab come out is a real full-circle moment and one I'll cherish for a long time.” Seven Lions says.
This unwavering commitment to the craft of songwriting has seen Seven Lions tapped to remix Above & Beyond and perform alongside them at marquee venues including The Gorge, Red Rocks and Miami’s RC Cola Plant.
The pairing of Above & Beyond and Seven Lions demonstrably works: his recent take on ’Sahara Love’ (feat. Zoë Johnston) spent 14 weeks in Spotify’s flagship dance playlist Mint, while 2016’s ‘Higher Love’ (a collaboration with Anjunabeats hotshot Jason Ross and vocalist Jason Meany of Mutemath) not only became a favorite in the trio's sets but is one of the biggest selling tracks in the Anjuna catalog.
Debuted during a scintillating EDC Festival set in May, where Jeff joined Jono and Tony on stage, ’See The End’ is a collaboration both Above & Beyond and Seven Lions have been looking forward to.
‘We’ve always loved Seven Lions. Jeff's understanding of melody and songs is second to none’, explain Above & Beyond. ‘His remix of 'On My Way To Heaven' was arguably better than the original, so it was really only a matter of time before we'd make a record with him. This fall you can catch Seven Lions on his co-headline tour with NGHTMRE and SLANDER Present: Gud Vibrations, and The Glitch Mob - The Alchemy Tour. Automatically change your iPhone wallpaper based on battery status
So this is pretty cool... cool enough for me to put the extra time and effort into creating a couple of special design variations you can automatically switch to based on the status or charging of your battery.
There's a few steps involved which I'll carefully walk you through below, but once you're set up, it's a breeze to keep updated.
1. Download the two special status screens you need

2. Add the special status screens to your iCloud drive
Look for the Shortcuts folder on your iCloud Drive
Rename the design you wish to make your regular lock screen wallpaper to default.png
Rename the low battery wallpaper design to lowbattery.png
Rename the charging wallpaper design to charging.png
Upload (mobile) or move (Mac desktop) the three renamed wallpaper designs to your Shortcuts folder on your iCloud Drive.
3. Set up an automatic "low battery" wallpaper
Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone
Tap on the Automation tab at the bottom of the screen
Tap on Create Personal Automation
Scroll to the bottom of the items list and tap on Battery Level
Set the options to something like Falls below 20% or whatever works for you, and tap Next
🚨 This next bit can be reused for all three automations I'm covering in this post. So come back to this bit when prompted: 🚨
Tap Add Action
Search for Get File and tap that option once it appears
Make sure Service is set to iCloud Drive
Turn off Show Document Picker
Set your "File Path" to /Shortcuts/lowbattery.png to point to the file you placed there earlier
Turn off Error if not Found
Tap on the + icon to start setting up the last step in the automated process
Search for Set Wallpaper and tap that option once it appears
Tap the Set options to deselect the Home Screen option and tap Done
Tap Show More
Turn off Show Preview
Turn on Perspective Zoom
Tap Next
Turn off Ask Before Running and confirm
Tap Done
4. Set up an automatic "charging connection" wallpaper
Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone
Tap on the Automation tab at the bottom of the screen
Tap on the + in the top right of the screen to start setting up a new automation
Tap Create Personal Automation
Scroll to the bottom of the items list and tap on Charger
Select Is Connected, and tap Next
Now go back up and repeat the instructions for adding an action to Get File and Set Wallpaper.
REMEMBER: you're looking to point the action to the /Shortcuts/charging.png file this time.
5. Set up your automatic lock screen wallpaper for when you "disconnect from charging"
Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone
Tap on the Automation tab at the bottom of the screen
Tap on the + in the top right of the screen to start setting up a new automation
Tap Create Personal Automation
Scroll to the bottom of the items list and tap on Charger
Select Is Disconnected, and tap Next
Now go back up and repeat the instructions for adding an action to Get File and Set Wallpaper.
REMEMBER: you're looking to point the action to the /Shortcuts/default.png file this time.
