BIOGRAPHY.

second child of jonathan and teresa raeken. born premature, theo had always been smaller and weaker than his peers. he had the smarts to make up for his physical shortcomings, but all his achievements paled in comparison to older sister tara’s.

the raekens were never physically abusive, but their inattention bordered neglect at times. theo never got much socialisation as a toddler, and as a result had a hard time making friends when he started school.

due to his isolation, he was an easy target for the dread doctors, who manipulated him into becoming an accomplice to tara’s murder, after having convinced him that she had wanted him to have her heart so that he could be a normal, healthy boy.

after the death of their golden child, jonathan and teresa packed up and left beacon hills without theo, inadvertently leaving him in the hands of the dread doctors. he was nine years old when he became the first successful chimera.

he did the dread doctors’ dirty work as they created more chimeras, slowly grooming him to become the perfect killer. when he was fourteen, they ended up in the same town as jonathan and teresa, purely on accident. curious, he would deviate from the doctors’ planned routines for him to spy on his biological parents. 

witnessing their grief—unwavering even half a decade after tara’s passing—made guilt for his actions start to prickle at his conscience, even as it was quickly buried underneath the resentment he held towards his parents for their years of neglect. after watching them for a while, he found out that they were grieving for him as well. it didn’t ease the sting of their abandonment, but it did make his guilt grow.

it wouldn’t be another three years that theo would fully come to terms with the reality of what he was doing. unwilling to continue being the dread doctors’ pawn, he faked his own death and escaped, wandering aimlessly for a while. without his realising, he was being drawn by the nemeton, and eventually found himself at beacon hills.

due to his upbringing, he was not much of a pack animal, but although he didn’t need a pack the way werewolves did—being an artificially created supernatural creature and all—he made an effort to align himself with the packs in beacon hills.

enrolled in beacon hills high school, got his ged, and applied for beacon hills university. he had a wealth of knowledge in biology due to his time with the doctors, and he decided to major in biomedical engineering to try and put that knowledge to good use, instead of using it to hurt people as the doctors do.

I'm watching a show right now for a goofy little crush and I kid you not. They had this dude eat 3 whole cakes in 3 separate wallowing scenes and it has fully infected my brain. I'm so fucked up.
