Current Activities in Gaming #230
I'm writing this as melatonin is coursing through me and making my eyes hard to keep open. I just wanted some thoughts out before I forget them.
The one plus side of being unemployed is being forced to wait for games to update themselves. Well, I -am- employed now but I'm still a day or so away from my first paycheck. I won't be getting Assassin's Creed: Shadows right away but it's certainly on my wishlist, but that's for after I get my cellphone back and am able to do some password recovery, since the Ubi app just decided I needed to send a code to them in between playing Blacklist for my youtube recordings, thus locking me out because I'm too poor for cell service. I'm currently stuck in this "send code to email" loop between emails I can't access without some SMS code and I can't update the phone number without, you know, logging in. Quite a mess.
One of my first game purchases, outside of a couple of Dying Light 2 cosmetic packs (and literally just a couple, most of that crap isn't my vibe), is inZOI. Not taking as much flack these days for use of generative AI. As long as it's not stealing art I don't really care that it uses some generation to make some grass texture on your shirt or whatever. Seems like it has had a good launch, with a lot of Sims 4-esque features already basekit like weather and seasons, jobs, and pets are on the way. I really hope they go zany and give us some occult, cos the occult stuff is what keeps me playing Sims 4 (though I do seem to need to do a full CC clear cos I can't seem to start a new game.) I don't think I'll be dumping 300 hours into it right away given that that does seem to be a lack of general stuff to "do" and the wait is also giving modders a bit of time to cook as well.
Meanwhile I've been sort of bouncing between a few games. Still need some prestiges on Starcraft 2 but almost done with that. Dying Light 2 is my latest hyperfixation, I had no idea they added guns. Currently on a NG+ trying to nab some legendary armor for those extra affixes. I also tap into Warframe here and there.
Logging into ESO daily for dailies and some weekly RP when attendance is favorable. Kinda MMO'd out though, especially with ESO where I have so many goddamn cosmetics my only real game is housing, but without any real way to make money that's not something I can expand on. ESO is in a sort of "I've beaten the game" kinda stage going on right now.
I should probably get around to beating Dragon Age: Veilguard. I really quite liked my 77 hours on it but a lot of that I was suffering from severe altitis so every character I have has like 20 hours each on it, which in itself is only like a third of the game or something. I should start a new playthrough and record it for youtube.
That's it. I'm employed again.
