Ever since Double Trouble was revealed I wanted to draw them w/ Rogelio since I also HC them as non-binary and Double Trouble is canonically nb

Also threw in my SPOP OC Acantophis for the heck of it since they’re nb too

In Annealian culture, each groom/bride chooses a “guard of honor” for their wedding to test if the other groom/bride is worthy to marry the person. Basically the other groom/bride had to fight for the right to marry.

It used to be a fight to the death, but it became unfashionable when ppl starting choosing friends as their guards of honor.

The test of honor is still tradition, even if for most people the fight is just for show.

Some more info: Coluber (48 years old) is gay and in a relationship Cobra (32) who is also gay. Acantophis (43) is non-binary and ace (pronouns: they/them). Anakond (24) is pan.

Some minor SPOP OCs, they’re staff at the Annealian royal palace where Queen Serpentia and Princess Dracina live.

1) Sergeant Anakond

A member of the Annealian military

was tasked with training Dracina when she was a bit younger

currently trains new recruit soldiers

He got his scar when Dracina spit fire in his face during a training fight

He went to report Dracina’s progress to Queen Serpentia before getting medical attention

His vision is severely impaired on the burned eye but he wears his scar like a badge of pride

He is an optimist and usually in a good mood but severely overworked due to being too afraid to ask Steward Master Cobra for day-offs

2) Captain Acantophis

Currently works as a guard at the Annealian royal palace

A very standoff-ish person, often reacts with delay if someone tries to startle or suprise them

They speak in a very composed, monotone voice

They can often be tactless as they can’t read people well and end up saying things they should have kept for themself

Good friends with Coluber, the two frequently get into competitions over completely inconsequential things

3) Steward Master Cobra

Never was a member of the military but knows how to defend himself if necessary

He’s in charge of the entire staff at the royal palace

He manages everyone’s shifts, even the guards, and is the one to talk to if you want a day off

Nothing happens in the palace without him knowing about it, nothing

He’s in a not-so-secret “secret relationship” with Captain Coluber

He knows that everyone at the palace knows about it but can’t bear to break the news to Coluber

Rumours are that he never voluntarily took a day off or called in sick in the years he had been working at the palace, the Queen had to force him to

A control freak to a fault and incredibly restless when not working or being in charge

At times he has to be physically dragged to bed for him to go to sleep

Intimidatingly competent, you’re fortunate he’s not striving for world domination

4) Captain Coluber

Like Acantophis, he currently works as a guard at the royal palace

He joined the military together with them

Very full of himself and often lets his pride decide things for him

You can make him try anything by implying he can’t do it

Has no concept of an indoor voice

Big and strong but incredibly dumb and oblivious

Coluber is utterly convinced his relationship with Cobra is a secret

He has a son from a previous relationship

Annealians threatening Hordak

Queen Serpentia (the legally aware one): Were it not for the terms of our truce, I would have slaughtered you.

Princess Dracina (imitating her mother): If I were not bound by the terms of our truce, I would kill you.

Steward Master Cobra (dangerously close to being poetic): Our queen is not the only person who'd like to acquaint your chest with the business end of a broadsword.

Sergeant Anakond (creativity is not his strong point): If I could stab you, I would.

Captain Coluber (his threats double as boasting): I could chop of your head with a single swing of my axe.

Captain Acantophis (a person of few words): Die.
