Started thinking about Acceletale again and I had the normal thought of "okay if I wanna speedrun the humans falling down mount ebott how many years would it take for Frisk to get there so I can calculate the rough number of human souls in the underground before that" and that brought up the question of "how long ago did the monsters get sealed underground" AND THAT brought the question of "where is mount ebott so that I can see that by the civilisations that lived there"

Which, yk. Great question. Where IS mount Ebott

And obviously to my knowledge that's never been confirmed and I. Honestly doubt Toby Fox put a lot of thought into placing it in any specific spot other than 'fictional mountain' so.

(Quick disclaimer this is. Literally just me thinking about this for the purpose of an alternate universe. Nothing I say here will be like. An actual deduction based on fact and given information, just me being silly and thinking out loud basically)

I've seen a bunch of depictions of mt. Ebott being in America, more accurately the United States, and like, yeah obviously people are going to put these characters into places they know! But that also made me think about how the Americas were colonized only a bit over 500 years ago (534 I think?) and the first British colony on that continent started in like. 1580?? So that's even less than 500 years and so if we place mount ebott in America do we think monsters would be sealed before or after colonization?? If before like it would make sense for many 'long ago' stories like that but then the sword like what's used in the legend is like, European right????? So while that might just be because of a newer non-accurate to actual legend depiction that erases natives from the face of the earth like colonizers like to-

Huh yeah no that might be an answer actually, they came and kicked out not only natives but monsters too. Hm.

Either that, it being not that long ago actually and humans should have many records of monsters, or its just. In Europe or Asia. Or maybe even between them in that mountain range. (Doesn't make sense because. Onion san, I guess. Need water closer.)

[Edit] im back very quickly actually do we think that the reason why monsters were mostly forgotten by humans other than legend is because with humans losing their magic due to losing a bunch of their mages in the war and then creating the barrier and overall all that jazz people lying about being capable of it became more common due to cool factor and then magic as a whole was deemed a lie which is also why there isnt many records of monsters as they were deemed fairytale???? And since a lot of our history is based on blood and corpses and remains of civilizations because of the lack of records due to either time or purposeful destruction/censoring do we think another reason for the lack of knowledge about monsters beyond legend would be that there just. Isn't bodies? And anything that remained of them on the surface was destroyed?? I mean it would make sense and iiiiii just realized I don't even remember if the fact humans don't remember monsters is canon or just made up by fans and widely accepted but oh well fuck it this wasn't based on fact anyway so like my main point of writing this do we think the fact that monster remains are dust contributed to their erasure from history
