Are you disabled and do you like visiting zoos? If yes, I want your feedback!

I am giving a presentation this fall on small/easy things that zoos and aquariums can do to be more disability friendly (above and beyond simply being ADA compliant). I’m drawing from my own experiences as well as all the information contributed to the accessibility spreadsheet.

I realized that there’s probably a lot of feedback and great ideas I’m missing because the spreadsheet asks for specifics about facilities, and folk might not remember where something occurred or know enough details to feel like they should contribute. I want to fix that!

So, if you’ve had accessibility issues at zoos and aquariums, and want to share your thoughts on the problems or the solutions, I’d love to hear it. I want as much information as possible to inform this presentation.

FYI for folk who’ve contributed to the accessibility spreadsheet since the last big update. First, thank you! Second, If you don’t see your contribution on there yet, it just means I haven’t gotten to it, not that it won’t be used or isn’t important - the various trials and tribulations of living in a meatsuit have prevented me from putting as much time into aggregating all the data. I’m hoping to get caught up sometime soon.
