I'd like a fic that's able to capture how incredibly kind and gentle ACDlock (or perhaps more specifically bretlock) can be.

Yes, he's an incredibly harsh, motivated and tenacious man. But he also loves deeply and completely. He adores humanity, people, even as much as they frustrate him at times.
