And There But For the Grace by leveragehunters remains one of my all-time favorite stucky fics, by one of my all-time favorite stucky authors, which I’ve now mentioned in a previous post. And if this looks familiar, it’s probably because you’ve scrolled to the very beginning of this blog and saw that I’d reblogged this from my main account. I figured I’d post it again properly, and with a better format now that I’ve got a few more posts under my belt and I’ve worked out how I wanna do these things. Alright, so, And There But For The Grace begins with fallen angel!Steve (who is, of course, now a demon residing in Hell) desperate to escape... well, Hell. He crosses paths with a few familiar faces once he’s bound to earth, eventually finding his way to the Winter Soldier, whom he possesses (yeah, it’s a little freaky, but go with it for a sec) in order to keep from being chained to a bad guy’s will. Like you might’ve guessed, Steve and Bucky develop quite the bond after a while -- and from there we get an absolutely beautiful story of these two doing everything in their power to protect each other, whether that’s from Hydra or SHIELD agents equipped to handle the supernatural threats. It also features ace!Bucky, which is something that, you know, spoke to me in particular. God, honestly, I can’t do this fic justice -- it’s just so good, like literally everything else leveragehunters writes. Give it a shot if you’re interested!
