acidarrowguy replied to your post “oh ewww i’m going to have to see a lot of ‘fanboy coulson’ crap after...”
Reasons I don't watch AOS: exhibit A. ;3
Ya... like i used to love Fan Boy Coulson so much until it was made into a thing where he obviously only fan boys over Cap and never does anything fan boyish over Black Widow and Hawkeye, who he has worked with.
I really wish AOS would just give us one episode where we get to see Coulson with something that screams hawkeye/black widow fan boy. Like even if it’s super small and he just has action figures/pictures of them in his office
i’m done with Cap Fanboy. we get it. he idolizes cap and that’s really cool. but there are other avengers and i want to know what he thinks of them.
B, C, I, U! ^_____^
Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?
Yes!
One of my most popular fics is a Harry Potter oneshot titled, Chandelier.
It’s actually based on an experience my parents had, not me personally. My mom told me that when they were newly married, they lived in this duplex apartment for a while, and they had the top floor. After they’d lived there for a little while, my mom was told by the people downstairs that they had their bed situated directly over the dining room chandelier. This means that whenever my parents were… intimate, the chandelier would start to shake.
My mom was mortified, but my dad apparently thought it was funny. So he took to jumping on the bed every now and then just to make the neighbors squirm a little more.
And she always says he didn’t have a sense of humor. Sure didn’t stop her from telling this story at the funeral.
Anyway, when my mom told it to me again some years later, I was immediately struck with inspiration, and I asked her if I could use that as the basis for a fic. She agreed, and this fic was the result. I still can’t believe how much attention it got. It’s almost eight years old, and I still get favs and reviews at least twice a week.
Then there’s a more minor example that did happen to me. This one Christmas, my mom (or was it my aunt?) got me these three angel pins all in different colors. Each color symbolized a different aspect of life that the angels were supposed to give you good luck in. There was a green one for good fortune, and a blue one that I think was for success, and then a red one for love. I guess they got jostled in transport or something, because when I finally got them, the red one’s head had snapped off.
I always fear that’s going to be an omen for my love life (assuming I ever have one), but when I decided one day to write a 5+1 fic about Jane being unlucky in love, the incident gave me perfect title inspiration. Thus, Headless Love Angel was born.
Boy that was a lot. Sorry for rambling.
What character do you identify with most?
Definitely Jane. There are a lot of reasons why she is my favorite Marvel girl, but that one is right up there. I don’t understand anything that she studies, math and science tend to just fly over my head, but I do feel like I get her as a person. She appears to be someone who likes to do things on her own and she gets very involved in the things she’s passionate about. Those are all things I can understand.
Another character I feel like I can relate to is Haruhi Fujioka from Ouran High School Host Club, for pretty much all the same reasons.
Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?
Back when I used to be into Harry Potter, I read a boatload of fanfics, probably more than any other fandom I’ve been in since. If you’re familiar with the Potter fandom, you’ll know that there is (or was when I was reading them) a subset of fics that are basically just Harry turning into a superpowered god and killing or otherwise humiliating everyone who has ever bothered him (usual targets are Snape, Malfoy, Dumbledore, etc.) and then getting a harem in the form of whatever female characters the author happens to like (typically background characters with no discernible personality traits, though major characters like Hermione and Luna got this a lot, too).
Needless to say, these fics were terrible. They were the worst kind of wish fulfillment. But for a long time, I couldn’t get enough of them. I boil it down to two reasons:
A: One cannot look away from a trainwreck.
B: I was a Harry/Hermione shipper, and I had a serious hate on for Ginny Weasley. Most of these fics bashed Ginny. In that regard, they were speaking my language.
I did grow out of it eventually, and left the fandom to get away from the extreme toxicity after Deathly Hallows came out. I still hate Ginny though…
And I can say with great pride that even at the worst of this phase in my life, I never ever read Partially Kissed Hero.
A pairing you might like to write for, but haven’t tried yet.
There are a couple. One that I don’t want to say because it’s a surprise.
Another is that I have this Bucky/Jane fic series in the works, an AU in which they are a werewolf and a vampire respectively. @ozhawkauthor got me interested in RumSkye, so I’ve considered including that as a minor ship somewhere down the line.
Another is Steve/Jane, which I technically did already write, but only as a silly parody, so I’m thinking I should give it a shot as a serious relationship somewhere down the line. I’m sure that will make @thordisx very happy. ;)
Thank you! I’m happy to receive your questions, too.
And I apologize for my overly long responses.
I'm excited because I've heard Hawkeye is the most badass and cocky/mouthy in this that he's been so far... which means we may actually get to see an MCU Clint Barton who is slightly closer to who Hawkeye ACTUALLY IS! As Hawkeye fans, we have to sort of grit our teeth and suck it up with what we get, so if we get a decent in-character short cameo, I will walk out of the movie happy!
Oh lord honey, I would be so pleased if we got a Clint that’s closer to the comic Clint I love. I trust the Russos, I think Whedon really screwed him up lol. I hope for the same :D

Love Jeph. I met Quinn and Dan outside their bus once, super nice guys.
NICE!!!! i met jepha outside of his bus once, along with quinn and bert briefly, but i didn’t get to meet dan. then i got to meet all of them, cause i had meet and greet tickets for this tour, got a photo with them, and got bert to write lyrics for me which was rad
Hey Romanoff ;) How about some Clintasha for the ship meme?
001 | send me a ship and I will tell you:
When I started shipping it if I did: I never really got into it as a romantic ship - it’s a total brotp for me (but I’ll answer everything as a romantic ship).
My thoughts: The trust between them is so pure and real and important - his trust for her because he trusted her when no one else did (or probably should’ve), and hers for him because he was the first (and one of the only) people she’s ever really trusted.
What makes me happy about them: They know each other so well that working with each other is instinct at this point, and their trust in each other has practically reached the level of faith.
What makes me sad about them: Natasha still has some walls - they don’t have secrets, because Clint doesn’t pry, but I could see her getting frustrated with herself that loving him doesn’t seem to come as easily to her as loving her does to him.
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: When they’re treated as a background couple (oh, and Clintasha, of course, they’re a couple, and they’re off on a mission or whatever) without any explanation as to how their romantic relationship might fit into the situation (since it’s not canon).
Things I look for in fanfic: I am REALLY interested in seeing how they team up, their first few missions together, building that relationship from the ground up.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Clint with Laura Barton, and Natasha... may be Steve Rogers?
My happily ever after for them: Retiring to a life of anonymity and building a family of children who need a home just as much as they did.
Who is the big spoon/little spoon: Natasha is the little spoon; Clint is the only one she trusts to watch her back while she’s sleeping.
What is their favorite non-sexual activity: Dad jokes. Pun-offs. Basically, they love being able to drop the ‘professional agent’ persona and just be dorks together.
Send me a number and topic!
I will TOTALLY ask a question! What's your OTP, and do you take fic requests? :)
Anastasia/Dimitri is my one true OTP of all time
but in Marvel I’ll have to go with Pepperony c:
and yes, I do! no one ever sends me requests tho so I don’t get to actually do them
