I won’t rant about how Teshima and Aoyagi are continuously ripped off by the narrative AND HOW THEY SHOULD HAVE WON THAT FIRST TRAINING CAMP RACE BECAUSE OH MY GOD, THEY SHOULD HAVE, IT WASN’T FAIR, YOU CAN’T PULL A CHEAP ‘THEY BOTH GOT PULLED MUSCLES AT THE SAME TIME, THAT IS SUCH A CHEAP

I guess my other big one is yes, I will miss the graduating third years a lot, I also want them to just go already. The fandom loves them, I love them, but it’s well and truly time for them to retire and go off to university and for the story and us to focus on the next generation.

Alright, unpopular opinion for the gay ice-skating anime - which is thing I’ve already talked about on twitter - I feel like the show hasn’t really done much with Victor yet, and it makes him hard for me to really connect to.
Like, don’t get me wrong, I like the dude. He’s silly and lovable and he’s helped Yuri so much and I am very much for him running off with Yuri once the show ends into the ice-skating sunset. All of that and more.
But I see a lot of fandom discourse about ‘Victor is secretly evil/manipulative/dying/has an agenda’ and so on, and I also see people railing against it, and I’ve got no particular horse in this race, but I do understand why people are writing up these giant meta/analysis posts for Victor - there’s just not much to him yet, and I think people just want to really get a grip on what his deal is.
Like. HE LEFT HIS COACH AND COUNTRY FOR A RANDOM DUDE IN JAPAN, and as romantic as that is, there’s got to be more to that story, you know?
I appreciate we’re not done with the series and that it’s very likely we’re about to get more into Victor’s head and backstory. And I really, really hope we do. I want to love and get him like I do with Yuri and Yurio, you know?
