I finally finished my mermaid lounge! You can grab a drink at the bar, relax in the seating area, or play a game, all while swaying to K.K. Mambo. I love how the lights interact with the mermaid wallpaper. Really happy with how it turned out! 💕

Some experiments involving lighting. I wanted to see if I could use hanging lights to illuminate my front room without turning on the actual lights, that is, the ones toggled with up on the d-pad when you're just walking around. Turns out, no! Not at all! The lights only illuminate, like, one space around them.

In New Leaf, it was a lot of fun to see how you could fill a room with lamps of different colors and achieve all kinds of lighting effects, but no more of that!

I know I've mentioned things like that before, but I was hoping that at least ceiling lights could really light up the room. Guess not.

I realize that this isn't important at all, but I always really liked how, in New Leaf, the lamps you turned on would affect the lighting of the entire room. You could change the color of the room with the right lights, and I had a lot of fun setting up Nester's front room so that it could turn the windows outside any color I wanted.

Not so in New Horizons, where lamps light up, like, the surrounding two squares and nothing else. I'm so bummed out by it, and that's not even slightly a joke.
