As you can clearly tell from reading the letter, this was what Nester got from Lolly for Valentine’s Day. Rika got one from Rudy, which wasn’t as nice. It was just something about rivalry.

Anyway, I like the idea of baking candy! I guess I never thought too hard about what verb you use for candy, but “baking” makes as much sense as anything else! You can bake a chocolate cake, so why not bake a chocolate heart?

I’ve probably told the story before every other Valentine’s Day, but the only time I ever got home-made chocolate on Valentine’s Day was when I lived in a co-ed dorm in college and one of the women living there made a bunch for her boyfriend and had so much extra that she handed it out to everybody in one of the shared rooms. And I was one of those people!

Hooray for free chocolate hearts!
