Hey anon, thank you for this ask! I know I say this every time but I can’t tell you how nice it feels to know that people are still interested in my fic.
I don’t have significant updates since last time. The tl;dr rundown that is less about the fic and more about my personal life:
- In the last year I girlbossed too close to the sun and became more important at work. My job is pretty mentally taxing so this has been an adjustment!
- Ya girl is also a prototypical gifted kid with ADHD and do you know what’s a great way to get burnout? Becoming more important at work without improving your executive functioning skills. 0/10, don’t recommend.
- Mental health therefore took a completely predictable nosedive.
- We also had a pretty shit winter, even by the standards of the “our winters are routinely shit” place that I live. As someone whose mood generally doesn’t fluctuate with the seasons, this one got me!
- I’ve basically been doing the “one step forward, two steps back” dance of trying to rebuild all my healthy habits, including having writing time. It’s been really hard tbh so I haven’t been able to make writing a priority.
My tentative plan has been to return to writing in earnest this month. I do think about this fic literally every day and a lot of the later parts are already written, but I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself.
Still 100% committed to finishing it—there’s pretty much nothing I want more than to finally complete it, if only to prove that I can (former gifted kid ass behavior 😭). Unfortunately I can’t give a more concrete timeline, but thank you again for checking in! It’s honestly very motivating.
