If you are more fortunate than others, build a longer table not a taller fence.

Happy Thanksgiving! Joyeux Jour de l’Action de Grace!
Greetings and another onion post from this author.
First, let me apologize for not posting in the last couple of weeks ... I have been pretty sick ... on the road to recovery now. Maybe it’s due to all the love and celebrating of Thanksgiving.
Everyone has their own traditions ... turkey ... ham ... all personal choices ...
A year ago I had posted an article about the orgins of Thanksgiving and how one super star brought up a touchy subject.
a quote: (you can read the whole article or even google it there are a few http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2010/11/24/angelina-jolie-hates-thanksgiving-refuses-celebrate-report-says.html )
“Jolie hates this holiday and wants no part in rewriting history like so many other Americans,” the friend said. “To celebrate what the white settlers did to the native Indians, the domination of one culture over another, just isn’t her style. She definitely doesn’t want to teach her multi-cultural family how to celebrate a story of murder.”
I am part native and I am aware of the history of this holiday but like with everything ... evolution of something that started out with dark roots has turned into something special. We don’t forget where the orgins came from and their dark begins but today they mean something more. In our house we remind each other that we should be thankful for what we have and the people who have touched our lives. Spending this time with friends and family, setting an extra plate at the table to be riminded of those who could not be with us. No phones, no electronics, just great food, drinks and conversations. So from our family to yours Happy Thanksgiving! Joyeux Jour de l’Action de Grace!
Have an amazing week!
