female character that was never meant to rule.

female character that was always meant to be subservient to her father/brother. female character that gained power anyway, through connection and alliance, by being pleasant and strategic. female that gained social power and wielded it like a weapon.

female character that smiled and nodded and went along, until the tipping moment where she could step into power and seize the control she'd always been aiming for.

obsessed with a character that haunts the narrative. a character everyone has very strong and specific memories of, but who never appears in the text to defend themselves. when they finally appear, character that doesn't live up to the readers expectations. you know what im saying.

prophetic character that know how it ends and doesn't try to fight.

prophetic character that puts their head down and grits their teeth, does what needs to be done. prophetic character that's aware of every bad thing that will happen along the way and still takes the first step.

prophetic character that goes along so easily, so gently, god's most sacrificial lamb, nothing to see here but a person accepting of their fate, until the very last moment when they claw themselves a different future, when they betray it all for a chance to live another day.

its insane when u have a whole universe of story and backstory and stuff. and then to make it mean literally anything to anyone you have to write a whole book about it.

and then like half of the lore and stuff doesn't even go in it?? like it doesn't serve the story so you gotta kinda half-mention it because to the characters it's a fact of life not something they obsess over? does anyone know what i'm talking about?
