Hey! :) I don't have any particular questions except--how's it going? What's your favorite thing that's happened in the last few days?
hi! thank you for asking. it’s going okay at the moment i guess. we’re all Going Through It aren’t we lol.
i think my favourite thing to happen recently has been meo finally letting me pet him. we’re looking after him while my nana is away, but hanging out with him and gaining his trust has been a real help to me as well. plus he’s a cutie which always helps
Top 5 favorite hobbies/activities :)
Thank you for the ask! These days, I’m feeling fairly lucky that most of my favorite hobbies/activities are social distancing-compliant… :)
1) Curling up with a good book (at home, outside, in coffeeshops)
2) Knitting/crafting (I just re-learned how to make those friendship bracelets from embroidery thread!)
3) Baking (I can’t say I’m all that good, but I do enjoy it)
4) Going out to happy hour/dinner/brunch with friends
5) Watching movies/TV
[ask me my “Top 5/Top 10” anything]
The Shining !!
never seen | want to see | the worst | bad | whatever | not my thing | good | great | favorite | masterpiece
I have a weird relationship with horror movies. I insist I don’t really like them, yet my DVD collection is full of them. The Shining looks like a great movie and I really do like a lot of Kubrick’s films, but I’ve always thought that this looked a little too intense for me. Plus I’m not a huge Jack Nicholson fan so that also might be a reason I’ve not watched it.

Omg aaah thank you so much for tagging me @actualmichelle 💕💕💕
5 things that make me happy, huh? I'll just pick some at random:
Friends--internet and irl alike. I love them all so much and idk where I'd be without them!!! Making new friends is especially fun, too.
Getting merch packages in the mail always makes me feel like a kid at Christmas.
Reading! Especially when it’s a friend’s fics, or something recommended to me.
Video games, primairly RPGs. FFXIV is my home.
Daydreaming--which I do 95% of the time!
I suppose it's the little things in life!~ (ノ´ヮ`)ノ*: ・゚Now time to drop this into various inboxes.
For the character ask--Francis Crozier :)
favorite thing about them: he! loves! people! so much! especially his men! at first glance he’s this grumpy, no-bullshit guy who’s not particularly friendly, and yeah, he’s that, but he’s also in a really shitty situation where he’s stuck, unable to do what he knows is the best for everyone. he actually has such a huge heart, and that’s what made me love him. through the entire series, he’s driven by how much he cares about the people around him. He accepted the position because he cared for Sophia that much, even though he knew she wouldn’t marry him. He always gave everyone a fair chance. He got sober because that’s what he needed to do to be the best captain he could be for them. And, god, every single one of his interactions with the men in the later third of the series. ‘You did well, son.’ ‘You will live.’ The warm touches and kind looks and every bit of reassurance and encouragement he gave them, even though you felt he had no hope for himself. A caring and selfless man who’s just so loyal to his crew even though the navy itself screwed him over - what a great guy. also I like the gap between his front teeth that shows when he laughs, it’s cute.
least favorite thing about them: not a big fan of the psychic visions or his ending in the book, but that’s not a character fault per say. obviously he’s not his best self when he’s drinking, to put it mildly, and he should have stopped earlier, but he did do his best to make up for it, even though it was too little too late at that point.
favorite line: SO MANY. the aformentioned ‘You did well son’ to Hartnell? His entire conversation with Fitzjames at the beggining of ep. 9? When he comforts Jopson when Jopson is sick? Oh, I know - when Jopson goes ‘Turmoil on the inside needs not to show on the outside, sir.’ and he goes ‘You forgot I’ve gotten turmoil all over you, and the bed, in the past hour alone - you should let me lie in it, it’ll teach me.’ idk. It’s both a sweet, sad and funny moment. I love him.
random headcanon: is it an headcanon or the truth that he burns super easily in the sun and is covered in freckles after the red calms down and he’s really cranky about it and it’s cute.
unpopular opinion: my first opinion of him was like ‘meh, grumpy middle aged white protag that’s always right but no one listens to so he drinks’ which is uh not the kind of character I usually enjoy. so it took me a couple of episodes to warm up to him. (never really happened in the book though - me warming up to him i mean)
song i associate with them: i’ll have to think about it! PROBABLY DAD ROCK THOUGH.
favorite picture of them: ANYTIME HE SMILES.
JK Rowling & Jane Austen
J.K. Rowling: What is your Hogwarts house?
it’s still hufflepuff for me though the older i get the more i exhibit ravenclaw and slytherin characteristics lmao. but i vaguely remember that one’s house is supposed to be reflective of which characteristics we value most? so, for me loyalty and work ethic are still very important.
Jane Austen: What social faux-pas annoys you the most?
answered here :)
