Ad Deir, also known as the Monastery (Petra, Jordan).
This monumental building, 50m wide and 45m high, is the largest monument in Petra. It was carved out of rock during the 1st century AD, and dedicated to King Obodas I, who reigned from 96 – 85 BC. He was worshipped as a god after his death.
