It was safe to say that this was Ada's favorite coffee shop in Manhattan: it was aesthetically pleasing, the wifi was great, the coffee was actually good (not like the abomination they served at Starbucks) and, most important, it was a quiet place so she could work in peace. She even had a favorite spot by the window where she would take her laptop and write for hours.
She had just finished an article about this new restaurant that opened in Hell's Kitchen when she caught by the corner of her eye that some guy dropped a piece of paper on her table. Ada frowned rather confused and took it. Of all the things that she expected to find, that was certainly not it and now she felt guilty because she didn't even manage to see his face. She did, however, see him leave and what he was wearing, so she quickly gathered her things, closed her laptop and didn't even bother on putting it back into the case. She simply gripped it tightly against her chest and rushed out of the shop, apologizing twice for bumping into some of the customers.
Once on the street, she looked around, looking for his coat until she spotted it. "Hey!" She called him as she made her way towards him. "Sorry, excuse me..." she said as she went past some random guy who was texting and not looking where he was going.
Thank God for the traffic lights, she thought as she saw him waiting for it. She quickly looked at the note, not wanting to get his name wrong. "Hey... Dylan?" She asked once she reached to where he was standing. Her hair looked rather disheveled and her cheeks a bit flushed since she had to hurry to catch him before he could cross the street. "Hi..." she smiled rather breathlessly. "I... I got your note..." she added, which was kinda obvious, but she pretty much forgot her own name the second she saw those striking blue eyes.
