Throwing her phone onto her comforter, Adaliah fell back with a huff, trying to fight the tears welling in her eyes.
It was stupid. So stupid. This happened years ago and she was still crying about it. Not like she could’ve done anything about. She was young and couldn’t do anything to fix it. Or stop it.
Fuck, she had to get ahold of herself.
Heroes don’t cry.
She angrily wiped at her eyes, the yellow orbs stinging as she pushed too hard. She didn’t stop though. She continued wiping, even as pain webbed from her eyes to her temples, snot clogging her sinuses. She didn’t stop when sobs painfully wracked her body. She didn’t stop as her head rocked with pounding aches and it hurt to even breath.
She didn’t stop when fatigue weighed down her every move and tears no longer streamed down her face, stomach clutching in pain, and knees aching from being held to her chest. No.
She only stopped, if momentarily, when a knock sounded at her door, begrudgingly pulling her aching body up and out of her bed. She sent an offhanded glance to her nest that sat in the corner of her room, desolate and cold.
Come to think of it, she couldn’t remember the last time she was in her nest. It just hadn’t felt right to her or her omega. Like something was off, missing. She tried buying new blankets and pillows, rearranging it, re-fluffing it, nothing worked though. Her omega failed to settle down when she was in her nest, pacing around and refusing to lay down. Refusing to lay down and relax, instead making Adaliah herself restless and unable to fall asleep, even for a short nap.
Another knock has Adaliah shaking her head as she finally opened the door. Immediately, green hair encased her sense, minty freshness surrounding her. Strong arms wrapped around her waist, comforting and grounding, as she tried reeling herself back to earth.
Heroes don’t cry. Heroes don’t cry. Heroes don’t cry,
Like a sudden aquifer was cracked open, more tears fell down her cheeks, dripping onto his scalp. The alpha merely held on tighter, refusing to let go as she cried into his hair. Somewhere along the line, she was picked up and brought to her nest, Izuku sitting on the edge as she continued crying into his shoulder. She could smell caramel and spicy chocolate on either side of her. The small rustle of plastic bags made Adaliah sniffle in reverence, wiping her eyes with little success.
When she pulled away, Izuku gave a final reassuring squeeze, holding her forearms in his own arms as he pulled away enough for her to sort herself. The wafting smell of burnt vanilla had the alphas’ eyes watering, but they pushed through, focused on one thing and one thing only.
“We brought snacks?” Shouto questioned, shaking one of the few bags.
“She doesn’t want snacks, icy-hot! Are you stupid?” Katsuki hissed, leaning behind Izuku to smack at the bag. Shouto stuck his tongue out, moving the bag as he smacked Katsuki’s hand.
“She doesn’t need arguing either, Kacchan.” Izuku huffed, quickly grabbing the hands flying towards him and pushing against him. Katsuki and Izuku rolled along the floor, careful not to disrupt the nest their- the omega was sitting in.
Shouto was left to roll his eyes at his boyfriends antics, digging into the bag and pulling out a bag of chips. opening it and munching on one. He sent a glance towards Adaliah, who had long since stopped crying, offering her the bag.
She laughed, wiping the last big of tears straggling behind, taking a chip out of the bag. The other two continued fighting, spewing mindless and venom-less insults towards the other. Adaliah and Shouto merely laughed to each other at the childish behavior.
“You know, it’s okay to feel emotions other than happiness.” Shouto hummed, looking over to Adaliah. The omega momentarily stopped laughing, frowning as her shoulders dropped.
“Heroes do cry, and that’s okay.”
Adaliah felt her omega finally relax when Shouto allowed her to rest her head on his shoulder, the duo continuing to wrestle in front of them.

'4th of the Pie' That's how much is going to be left after TV steals it! Collab with the lovely @hoopdiddydoodles! Featuring our characters: Zavalah, TV (mine), Adaliah, and Tess (Ray's)! Ray did the lines, I did the colouring- it was fun!
One thing Ashley and I commonly do during Drawpile sessions is exchange colour palettes we’ve found online, along with picking a select few characters of ours, then draw them out. I love the variety of characters and colours in these drawings! It’s a pretty good exercise for placing values, and sometimes, quite honestly, fighting to make a palette look acceptable on certain characters.
This is only my half though. You can find some of the drawings she did during these sessions here and here! Check it out!
(half of these characters are mine, half of them are Ashley’s. Names are listed in the tags, and if you have any questions about them, feel free to send an ask!)
