Looking across the wires and the smoke that curled from the engine, Adam did not look very hopeful about the state of the other's car. While he was certain he could fix it — there was very little he was convinced that he couldn't repair — this wasn't going to be an easy case. "Do you want the truth or would you rather I lie to you?" he then turned to them, wiping the sweat that was beading down his forehead with the back of his hand and leaving a mark of grease in its wake.

Metal rattled against hard plastic as Adam put his toolbox back into the backseat of his truck. He was hopping out of his car when noticed a moving van pulled up to the place next door. He recalled some of his neighbors gossiping about someone new but he'd completely forgotten about that until just now. "Do you need a hand with that?" Adam asked, unable to keep himself from helping, coming over to greet his new neighbor. He was wiping his hands against his jeans when he looked to meet a familiar face. One he was convinced he wouldn't ever see again. The air had been sucked out of his lungs the moment he recognized her. "Holy shit— is that really you?"
