I was reading this Japanese fancomic where Akari finds a way to return to her world, she tells Adaman, and he... doesn't take it well.

He asks Akari when she plans to leave, she says tomorrow, and his response??

"Then stay here and talk with me until the day after tomorrow."

Auuuuugh!! What am I even DOING with my writing if I can't make it hit half as hard as that one line?!?!

Adaman confesses his love to Akari. Akari reciprocates but knows her time in Hisui is short now that she has fulfilled Arceus' task. She can't stay in the past forever.

Adaman promises to take care of her pokemon for her, even though she has WAY too many of them.

Akari leaves (Returns to the modern world where she is Dawn, a few years after DPPt/BDSP).

Adaman tries to move on. He cares for her pokemon, every day hurting because he misses her so much.

He enters an arranged marriage to Irida to unite their clans officially (Palina and Iscan already married a while ago). Hes happy. Don't get it wrong! Irida is a good wife and friend. A good mother. He loves his children. But he never stops loving Akari.

When Adaman dies, someone (perhaps Enamorus) takes pity on him and allows him to reincarnate with his memories intact.

He spends many years looking for an "Akari" only to see DAWN on tv, on the news from Sinnoh (in my head he's reincarnated in like, Unova). It took only a few more years before he was able to track her down (for Akari/Dawn, about a year after she returns to the present).

They can finally be together!

Something that I think is really, really funny about the whole Hisuian Love Triangle affair is...

Yes, Volo did order an ancient eldritch deity to strike Akari down (and he feels very, very sorry about that now), however...

Adaman rises with the Starly. He awakes early each and every morning, sometimes before the sun has even begun its ascension in the sky. But Akari and Volo share the sentiment that their day starts when they get out of bed, be that seven in the morning, one ‘o clock in the afternoon, or five minutes ‘til midnight.

Between the two, Akari is the one that’s more frightening when awoken. If someone attempts to get Volo up, he’ll just hiss at them, turn around, and go back to sleep.

But Akari... she’s an Ursaring.

Rei loathes being ordered to wake her up whenever there’s early morning business that needs to be attended to because, “I like my arms right where they are - still attached to my body.”

Adaman is always so, so sweet though whenever he wakes her up, on the days she stays at the Diamond Clan settlement. She finds it difficult for her to snap at him. But should she, he takes her sour attitude with stride.

Volo, he’s somewhat infamous for slacking on the job, and aside from investigating the ruins across the region, that also includes taking a snooze here and there - and when their paths cross, he encourages Akari to join him.

So while Volo and Akari’s relationship definitely has some issues due to the former’s past actions, the two of them are so aligned when it comes to their views on sleeping in.

idk if youre still into it or not but youre the only other user ive seen that ships akari and adaman and lemme just tell you that is some 👌👌👌 EXQUISITE TASTE ive wanted to write fics for them ever since i played legends for the first time but i havent got the guts to go ahead with it

I am still very much into Adamantshipping, anon.

They certainly are a rare pair, enough so that I had to be the one to bestow them with a ship name. My apologies if it isn't too creative. Adaman giving Akari the Adamant Crystal was portrayed as being more akin to a proposal in some fan art, so that's where I came up with the name 'Adamantshipping'.

But that's probably obvious and there wasn't really any need for me to explain anything.

Anyways, I think you should consider writing those fanfics sometime! There might be some shouts from the peanut gallery about how they hate the pairing, but I promise that you and I aren't the only ones who enjoy this ship.

Who knows? Maybe you'll even coerce a few readers into shipping Adaman and Akari too with your work.

There’s so much to unpack here...

1. Adaman is interested in cooking! That is an extremely attractive quality for a man to possess and I think he’s aware of this.

2. Adaman telling Akari to stay safe! He cares about her so much...

3. Adaman wants Akari to taste his cooking, and maybe it’s just because I love food, but... that sounds like a marriage proposal to me.

4. The look he’s giving Akari as he leaves... He sure was trying to maintain eye contact for as long as possible, wasn’t he?
