I don’t know about you but when I think about monks, I always picture bald men in strange robes who have either taken a vow of silence or teach kung fu. Also glasses. I feel like all of them wear glasses. Well now thanks to Adelbert’s all I can see are those same monks playing Dance Dance Revolution in a shitty mall surrounded by Asian kids who are absolutely going fucking crazy watching them slay. Also, don’t sit there all high and mighty criticizing me because I think all Asian kids play DDR because you know damn well it’s the truth. All they do in Asia is math, paint nails, do dry cleaning, and play DDR. Look it up. Anyways, with this beer I unfortunately end my Adelbert’s reviews for now and I stress FOR NOW because they have all been spectacular and I’m not going to be able to end my journey into their lineup yet. This has an almost cherry-like flavor to start with a nice sweetness before some plum and dark fruit mixes in with a mildly boozy flavor before closing up with some candied sugar notes. This is a damn delicious beer and I’m glad I’ve had an influx in new styles lately because I feel like I haven’t really given the Dubbel it’s proper dues yet so hopefully this is a step in the right direction for me correcting that. If this is your first Dubbel, pick this up, drink, dance, and repeat because this really is a great tasting brew that you need to try. As for those of you who have decided to look like a Dragon Ball Z character and put on your fancy orange robes, pick this up and power up then blast it down your throat because it kicks ass. Word.
