Hi! In the tags of a post you recently reblogged you mentioned a book on ADHD you were reading. It sounds very interesting and I was wondering if I could get the title?
Oh sure! It’s ADHD 2.0.
And since it’s been brought up I’ll go ahead and talk about the book some.
It’s focused on giving tips on how to deal with ADHD, both for parents of kids with it and for adults dealing with it themselves. I felt like this was pretty true, there are parts specific to parents but 90% of the book is good for all audiences.
Some of the suggestions they make, like taking certain tests to determine what kinds of jobs you would be more successful with, cost money. I checked out one of them but it was $50 and I was like psh no way. So I can’t say how helpful that particular test result would be but if you have the money and are struggling at work, might be worth trying it.
80% of their suggestions are just good advice in general. All of these things would benefit literally anyone who did them other than going on medication. But you probably wouldn’t think to do some of them for other reasons (like specifically working to improve balance and coordination)
One other point of interest that I liked, is that it also talks about VAST, which is basically what they are calling induced ADHD symptoms people have because of technology addictions and other aspects of modern society. They are giving advice for all of it, and I liked both that they differentiate the two, and treat VAST as a legitimate issue as well.
I had mixed feelings on the actual writing style. It can be a little flowery for me at parts but still easy to read. And both authors also deal with ADHD!
